I am an avid golfer and woodworker. Recently, I've seen some beautiful, albeit really expensive, wooden putters. I am putting quite well but am intrigued about making a wooden putter. Have any of you seen actual plans for a putter, with enough technical details to know where to put weights, how much to incline the face, what types of face inserts to use, etc.? I've searched the web and several forums but can't find much. Appreciate any help I can get.

I have searched also and havent found anything. You would probably have to start by picking the design that you want and then drawing your own plans. You would need to weight it depending on your putting stroke (weights on outside edges or in mass of putter like a mallet. If you like a metal insert you could make your own or have a machine shop mill you one. some wooden putters also have a brass base plate and a lot of the weight would be in that. it will probably take some trial and error to get it like you would want it for your stroke.
Best of luck to you.
