The SuperSpeed Squeeze Review
At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by golfers just like you. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, hybrids, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing.
The SuperSpeed Squeeze was released late last year and there was quite the debate on the THP Forum on whether or not it would work. We decided to put it to the test, and with the help of SuperSpeed Golf, put this tool in the hands of forum members to complete the training regimen and document their process and results. We also selected forum members of all different ability levels to really try and get results for every type of golfer.
SuperSpeed stands by their products and because of that also included a dynamometer, which measures grip strength, to each of the participants reviewing the Squeeze. The testing was done over a period of time and documented in the THP Forum.
While this forum thread will continue to live on while more people go through the Squeeze training themselves, each of our testers has completed their work and documented the entire process. A truly fascinating test that involved no staff members, but regular golfers of all different abilities working with the SuperSpeed Squeeze and then not only testing their strength by numbers with the device, but also how it relates to the golf course.
We urge everybody to read through the entire forum thread with the testing which can be found here. For those that would prefer the cliff notes version, we asked each of the tester to supply some wrap up thoughts on how it went.
“Testing went well and I picked up some noticeable swing speed. The training was pretty easy to get started and was not at all cumbersome”, said Echico
“Fast, easy to use, and very effective. In a relatively short time when it comes to strength training, I was able to see a significant increase in grip strength. This translated to better club face control and ball contact out on course”, said Jtubb17
“I went to a lesson today and it reaffirmed what I have thought I have been seeing on the course. I stopped the training about a month ago, but my grip still feels strong. My left hand issues are much better than before training and my iron consistency has improved. I didn’t see a speed gain, but feel like a more consistent strike has been a result from this training,” said OUMagic
“With in a short time of regular training with the Squeeze, I saw measurable gains in my grip strength. That has translated to better performance playing golf,” said mtbloco
“Using the SuperSpeed Squeeze increased my grip strength 55%. On the course I have more distance & accuracy with all clubs. And distance control putting has improved as well. Great training aid!”, said cnl390
We want to thank those forum members that took on the challenge and SuperSpeed Golf in believing in their product and processes so much to agree to this type of test. If you have not read through their reviews, we urge you to dive in. While the spoiler is out that everybody had success, the weekly data shared and opinions to go along with it are fascinating. Jump into the THP Forum testing thread here.
If you have questions, feel free to ask them as the golfers are answering questions about their results, how they have fared since and so much more. This is one that everybody that is looking for more distance (all golfers) should be paying attention to.
It is rare for a training aid to have unanimously positive results, but the Squeeze showed to bring just that. For a relatively inexpensive cost of entry, this piece of equipment should be at the forefront of a lot of golfers’ minds.

Pretty impressive results.
SuperSpeed systems are really intriguing, I’ve been checking out the speed testing and this one with interest. Great results by all!
As soon as I check out the indoor facilities I’ll have for this year, I see a purchase incoming.
Nice results from such a simple product. I will need to look into this more.

When I got mine in hand I thought “wow this is a pretty simple thing.” It absolutely is but it packs a punch
Ugh I really need to prioritize using mine
I got one a month ago, but haven’t used it as much as I need to. Partly due to travel, partly due to a knee issue that had me not swinging for a few weeks. Simple in concept and use, but effective. Even without using it as often as prescribed I can tell a small difference. I’m sure it will be much more in six months.
I understand the sticks, and the ability to get faster with the program. But I don’t honestly understand the squeeze grips. I’ve been told on more than one occasion that my grip was too strong, and to reduce my grip strength to like a 4 (out of 10). Why would I want to grip harder? Those who participated, please elaborate how the grip strength helped your distance, versus – the stick swinging program.
I was quite skeptical when I started using the aid. I was worried that it would make an issue with my hand worse. It worked much better than expected.

For me, it is available grip strength. My grip strength was so weak to start, that I was forced to grip the club 8/10 to control the face and not feel like I would lose the club. When I made my grip stronger with the help of this device, I could then grip 5/10 and have the same or better control than before training. I hope that makes sense? Ask me anything.
I didn’t gain swing speed but feel like I gained control. Just the fact that my pain in the left hand has all but gone away made this device a winner for me.
Going to get back to using the one I bought right after they were released. Love seeing all of the positive reviews.
This was a fun product to test out. Luckily when I was testing this out I had been going through lessons that was really helping me get my backswing and transition in a better sequence. The meathead in me wants to just swing hard and fast which lead to an inside takeaway and an over the top move that could be catastrophic on the course. I started to see when I was swinging full out that I was getting back into old habits. The 2 things I did to really help make sure I could transfer this gained speed was to use a couple of different drills with the Squeeze on to ensure I stayed on my improvement path. I didn’t do these all the time but once a week was fine to make sure I kept things in my head.
First I tried to keep my backswing as normal as possible. On the lefty swings I didn’t use this. I have been using this setup for awhile so I was never really scared of hitting it which led to me still swinging aggressively. Obviously not with the Squeeze here but this is jist of it.

A few weeks into the protocols I felt that I was not really using my legs as much as I wanted to. I was starting to really get some gains on my driver swing speed but I was not able to control a full out swing. Of course if I have it in the gas tank I want to use it so I talked with my coach a little bit and I came up with another drill I did at the end of the protocols. I used the old step drill to really make sure I kept my swing in tune as speed started to go up.

Doing these 2 things helped me keep my swing under control and fight my urges to swing out of shoes uncontrollably.

In the original thread there were a couple of comments back from SuperSpeed that really helped me understand more of what was going on. Here are a couple of quotes from there that really elaborate on some of what your questions are. First having the grip strength helps with clubface control. Better clubface control leads to better contact which means you can get more distance even without any speed gains.
Second quote show that this is not just a grip strengthening device. It works on functional strength that you would actually use during a swing. If you are in tune with what you want your swing to be then you can really feel where in you swing you want to apply pressure and release pressure.

We are actively collecting data on grip pressure during the swing and increasing your capacity of grip strength just gives you a lot more options and abilities on controlling the clubface throughout the swing. We continue to see this with many of our users.

I’m glad you posted this. I always like to point out that there are lots of ways to train grip strength. Lots of wonderful tools out there. I do think a part of the “secret sauce” in the Squeeze is that it is dynamic and you can train it during a swing. Really keying in and feeling the times to apply more pressure and times to not apply as much. The swings with the club are a bit part of the golf transfer from grip strength training. Again all grip strength training is good, and I would recommend to anyone who has a deficit. But the golf specific part of the squeeze is unique.

Thanks for the update. Are there any objective data available from the test group? For example data from a launch monitor, GIR, % of fairways hit, changes in handicap, etc?

When I first started using this system I just made the transition from my Copper Forged Tec irons to the Cobra Tour CB’s. I expected a decrease in distance going to these clubs for a number of reasons. When they got into my hands they were shorter. Once I started to the program I started to see that the CB distance was starting to get closer to my old iron distances and the control was better as well. I have seen a slight uptick in GIR and driving distance but my iron distances are noticeably different from when I got my new irons and current.
I was kinda skeptical about this. Happy to be wrong. I’ve trained speed hard over the last few years and just used a different method.
Anyone have any hard data on swing speed or strike? Seems the strength would help strike as well.
Is anyone using the super squeeze protocol and doing the super speed training? If so how are you incorporating it?
