Sunday afternoon we kick off the 2023 Titleist Experience and this one is all about their new iron line. Eight lucky THP Forum members join myself and a team from Titleist at Dormie Club in North Carolina for a few days of fun, learning and brand new clubs.
The Contest
Just because you are not at Dormie Club with us does not mean you can’t win from the 2023 Titleist Experience. The lucky prediction winner will receive a Mystery Box full of goodies. This is one contest, you will want to enter and follow along to see how you did.
In the first round at the course, myself and Jacquelyn Duncan from Titleist will play a round together and your job will be to predict what we shoot net in best ball. The closest to the score without going over will win. If there is a tie, we will randomly select a winner from those that chose correctly.
Itinerary
Sunday Evening: Group Dinner with Titleist R&D and Marketing where participants get their brand new clubs presented to them followed by night putting for those that want to partake.

Love the quarter – I bought that one @ ArborLinks!
I had time to rest up from travel and am thrilled with how amazing this event was. The irons, golf, and amenities are top notch, but these trips are about whom you share it with. It was more than a contest. Being able to play golf and experience Dormie and a bucket list course with those who appreciate and are as fanatical about golf like I do was what made this an amazing time. That is on thing about golf that is great; every ability can get out and enjoy a round together.
First off, @JB and @GolferGal thank you for this opportunity and being great hosts and setting up the logistics for this event. I can only imagine the time spent for coordination plus the travel involved. Then there is the corralling of us THP-ers at the event. Thank you for hard work in all of this.
The Titleist trio were a blast to play golf with. Seeing them stand behind their product and enjoy putting them into play showed us your commitment to not sell a product, but to help us enjoy playing golf as best we can. The Master of Metals himself was showing us that a 3 iron can be stuck to 3 feet. That is truly proving that your products are as good as you say. JT, JD, and Marni, you were all so much fun to share a round, a conversation, and meals with over the past few days, and I am thankful for the tips given while we golfed together.
@SkiBumGolfer it was great to travel to the event with someone. The rain on the way to the airport was a bit concerning, but we talked all things golf on the way there and played 3 rounds of golf together which was a ton of fun. Great job on the win on Monday, and as much as the sand is not a favorite of yours, you did hit some solid sand shots and I expect that they will be part of your arsenal in no time.
@djt311 We did not get to play a round together unfortunately, but it was great hanging out through the event. I was able to watch your valiant attempt from behind the green at Tobacco on #16. I experienced the same ‘condition’ from back there and we will have to head back at some point for redemption!
@DNice26 what can I say? Watching someone play amazing golf is fun to do and I had a front row seat to it at Dormie. 260 carry? no problem. Obnoxiously long par 5 in 2? Sounds good. Oh, and he can putt well, too. Keep up the great golf! It was fun to watch how golf should be played 🙂
@praterkeith I played 2 rounds with you that included the shot heard around the world (or Pine Needles driving range). Our round at Dormie at the end was a blast as we navigated the course in interesting ways off the tee. You have incredible power with that swing and I expect you to post scores below a 5 on the back nine in the future, especially when you can hit shots like you did on #16 for that brilliant par. Your story about how much golf meant to you and that amazing surprise of the THP event ball marker was incredible. It was nice to grab some Dormie logoed items, but that marker is one item that is now on display at home. If you want to play golf with a great guy, look no further.
@MSEASU Another two rounds shared with a THPer who is cool, calm, and collected. If I have to lose a match, I want to do so when someone plays stellar golf and that is exactly what you did at Dormie. 1 under on the front 9 with new clubs, a new course, and new people is a feat! Well played, both at Tobacco and Dormie! P.S. Michelle Wie says hi.
@lambeau another great guy. I am glad we could share a round at Tobacco and take on that excavated crater on #11 just because it was there. Some incredible shots and doozies of bunker lies as yellow Top Flight golf balls come flying in from all around us :p.
@troyefl congrats on the putting contest win! It was great to tackle Dormie for the first time with you. Once those new irons dropped into the bag, it was fun watching you hit some great shots. I hope to see you out at another THP event!
and to @JB again, thanks for making this trip fun. It was great to play a round at Dormie with you on Tuesday. Quick with a joke and you keep the round fun (and moving along quickly). I am glad I could share some drama out on the course including putts that pause for dramatic effect. This was an amazing time and I appreciate the chance to play at them.
What a stretch of days! Now it is time to dive into the new irons and work with them on bent grass. I am excited to really test them out and improve my game!

I hit Legacy Links this morning just south of Aberdeen based on recommendation from the concierge at Dormie as a quietly good course. Currently in the airport waiting to head home.
I played 6 rounds in these 5 days, and 4 of those 6 will count on my handicap. (Pine Needles and Dormie white will not.) No way did I expect to lower my cap this week, but it did. Glad to know my game can travel and this old man can handle playing that much just fine.
Good things ahead, these Titleist irons are absolutely killing it for me.
