I found it fairly easy to hit, too. Absolutely love the adjustability.

Had a long talk on club selection with my instructor who I ran into at the club.
Having seen my game, he’s firmly of the opinion that King Tours would be the ticket.

I think it’s in the life thread. It was a really cool moment.
For those selected for the Morgan Cup, that video with Yags is basically mandatory listening. Tremendous explanation of the technology in the Darkspeed driver heads.
I will also say that I think the propensity of club selection is to lean towards forgiveness. While the 9 degree LS may be intimidating on paper, it’s a supremely easy club to hit and get good launch. It is low spin for sure, but it’s not low spin in the sense of the phrase a few years ago. Don’t be afraid to have confidence in your abilities.
Last time I’ll mention it, but seeing that drawing in that video really warmed my heart. I really wrestled whether it was significant enough to show our team appreciation for everything that was done for us. And the idea came to me when having a call just like that and thinking that it would be the perfect addition to his wall, which was primarily empty at the time. It’s really fulfilling to see it up in such a prominent place.
And while you can’t see all the details, in person the drawing is really impressive and detailed.

Mike’s reaction to it really emphasized the significance to him and his appreciation of it.

No one needs a 7w.
Hybrids are the easy choice.
I’ve fallen into a trend of a hybrid and utility that both fly about the same but the utility runs out a whole lot more with the Texas fairways.
That said i hit the utility once at Briggs and the hybrid 0 times.
On some courses I love teeing off with the utility to keep it low and running. Briggs is not that course.
4h is my 215-220 par 3 club. Again, none at Briggs.
Here is a scenario where the 200-220ish hybrid played pretty regularly for me. Hit a not so good driver, pully hook into left rough on a par 4. Instead of being 165ish from a good ter shot, I am now 200+. 3/4hybrid (King Tec or Darkspeed, take your pick) to very close to green or sometimes on. That scenario played out for me ALOT last golf season. King Tec saved my bacon more times than I can remember.
Time to get to work 2024 Morgan Cup!
Cobra/Puma Golf and THP are bringing us on one ***** amazing ride!

That’s a very reasonable scenario though, especially for us real life amateurs.
147 Days til we get to roll up to Briggs Ranch and get this thing started. How is everyone feeling?
What Club are you most looking forward to?
I cannot wait to get the Darkspeed fairway woods in my bag. I’m a huge fairway wood guy and can’t wait to have the 5 and 7 woods to get in tune with.
Looking at other events that took place at Briggs ranch, and the Briggs Ranch hole breakdowns which hole are you most looking forward to?
Hole 6 Stands out in my head, only hole with water, looks like it fits my eye with a draw possibly working really well here. Also Hole 14 looks fun, but the bunkers all down the left side worry me.

Rough first cut. I will be going to Roger Dunn Golf this weekend to finalize my selection.
Darkspeed X 10.5 stiff Lin-Q Red
Darkspeed Max 3 wood graphite stiff
Darkspeed X 5 wood graphite stiff
Darkspeed 3 hybrid graphite stiff
Darkspeed irons 5-GW graphite stiff
Snakebite raw 54*, 58* both in versatile grind, stiff steel
Agera 3D printer putter

Interested in why the MAX 3 wood and then the X 5 wood? Is it just you need more height/spin with the 3 wood?
Have you had a chance to try any of the clubs out yet?

I don’t have a lot of time for THP at this very moment but it’s always a blast catching up on this thread especially now that bag builds are furiously being constructed, being changed, spreadsheet utilizations, and final approval for team paradise. I’m not going to quote them but there are some very nice bag builds that I’ve seen and a few surprising bags.

The most important change I made to my bag last year as a result of the Morgan Cup was going from a 60* wedge to a 58* based on @Master Yagley ‘s suggestion. It has saved me more strokes around the green spice I did it than I can remember. And it is a weapon from the bunkers.
I am looking forward to seeing the orders roll in.

All depending on availability & my fitting, of course. Plus, I don’t think the King Tour irons can be matched to the DarkSpeed lofts? If I got a mix match set of those two. And I’d like the ‘match sticks’ to match if possible. Notice I didn’t say the dreaded word .. sh***s, I said ‘match sticks’ :ROFLMAO:

I tried 60* once. That was enough for me lol, always been 58 otherwise. Not sure why that 2 degrees makes THAT BIG of a difference for me, but it does.

I looked at a blended set of AJs and King Tours last year. I could get a loft progression that matched up, more or less, blending at 8 iron. My AJs are 2* weak so that gave me an AJ 8 at 32 (dropped to only 1* weak) and a KT 8 at 36. AJs 6-8 and KTs 8-P.
After my fitting I will be looking at:
Darkspeed LS 9*
Darkspeed LS 3/5
Darkspeed 4hy cut down an inch
King Tour 5-GW
Snakebite raw 54/58 versatile
Agera RS-30
Woods will all have the PX HZRDUS Smoke Blue, and hybrid is the only one I have to consider now. The HZRDUS hybrid shaft wasn’t the best for me in the fitting.
I am excited for the Raw wedges, do you use them as normal and they just rust on there own? Do you speed up the process any way?

another brands wedges I had in raw rusted almost first day because it was wet out lol. I just let them go on their own.
@JB and @jdtox just a quick question, when selecting wedges on the website if I choose stiff graphite, all the options are coming up as upcharge shafts, is stiff graphite an option? would it just be the KBS shafts?

I wonder on the irons, the gap between the Darkspeed 7i (27*) and the King Tour 8i (36*) is pretty large, I wonder if you did Darkspeed 5-8 if it wouldn’t gap better the 8 is 31.5* loft in the darkspeed?

Interesting to see everyone’s focus as they work out their bags. Curious to me that that several are more focused on the top end than bottom end of the bag. Always neat to see how things shake out.
