2023 Lamkin Grips Preview

Known as golf’s original grip manufacturer, Lamkin has almost a century’s experience in the field. With a diverse lineup for both clubs and putters, the company has incorporated a variety of different materials and technologies into their products. For 2023, they are expanding on three already popular lines with new takes on the Sonar+, UTX, and Crossline 360.

From Lamkin:

“The Sonar+ Black will be offered in three sizes – Standard, Midsize, and Oversize – and will build upon the foundation the Sonar family has delivered over the last 4 years. Golfers know this product delivers on comfort with a unique texture pattern offered through our Genesis Material and Fingerprint Texture Technologies. In 2023, we are adding a consumer validated new look that will add a sophisticated, technical style that will elevate this product family’s appeal. This product will add appeal as a serious offering for the widest range of golfers seeking comfort, performance, and design.”

By offering a new aesthetic design to an already popular grip, Lamkin is appealing to those golfers that desire advanced grip technology while looking for a more sophisticated and contemporary look. The Sonar+ utilizes Genesis Material and Fingerprint Texture Technologies, which facilitates both comfort and a secure grip. Genesis material is slightly softer than traditional rubber but offers better durability over time while remaining tacky in any climate. Fingerprint Texture is a high-traction design that comfortably reduces torsion and slippage. The reduce-taper profile, a feature that is very popular with modern golfers, helps reduce tension to enable easy, powerful swings.

UTX Green and UTX Blue

From Lamkin:

“The UTX Green and UTX Blue will be offered in two sizes – Standard and Midsize. UTX is our fastest-growing grip on tour, with multiple wins across the major tours in 2022. This tour-validated product is positioned as our “tacky cord,” and know that it will serve golfers looking to gain confidence by securing connection to the club with its unique tri-layer material technology, and “x” pattern cord texture.”

As its fastest-growing grip on Tour, Lamkin’s UTX improves on the traditional corded grip. There is probably no better material for pure ability to secure the hands to a golf club, with its combination of tackiness and friction. The UTX is a three-layer construction, with the firm outer ACE layer providing torsion control and vibration dampening, the full-cord middle for wicking moisture and increasing traction, and the softer ACE foundation designed to offer comfort and feel.

Crossline 360 Black

From Lamkin:

“The Crossline 360 family has been a hit with its unique use of material and dual-direction texture pattern. In 2023, we are extending our lineup with the Crossline 360 Black, offered in both standard and midsize. This product has been heavily requested by consumers after its success on major OEM programs in 2022. We expect this product to serve a wide range of golfers looking for look and feel. In addition, we will be adding a highly requested midsize model to the successful Crossline 360 Gray and 360 Full Cord Genesis models. We feel we have a complete lineup for the golfers who prefer the unique feel offered by the texture pattern and who desire freedom for grip alignment in adjustable clubs.”

The Crossline 360 is Lamkin’s solution to the ever-present problem of correctly aligning a grip when using some adjustable golf clubs. The 360 is slightly softer than the traditional Crossline while providing the same great traction and durability. Since it offers a uniform look and omnidirectional traction, users can expect the ultimate in flexibility when installing on clubs with rotating or adjustable hosels.
