Our readers shouldn’t be strangers to Stitch Golf at this point. Between our forum members’ feedback, several home page reviews, and a recent Brand Story article, we’ve explored just about everything the company has to offer, whether it be headcovers, travel bags, golf bags, or apparel. With golf season in full swing for just about everybody in North America, Stitch’s Summer 2023 lineup is offering fresh looks to revitalize your wardrobe. We took a look at three of the new line’s polos, along with a great piece of outerwear for early or late rounds when there’s still a little chill in the air.
Walk In the Woods Polo
Choose a subtle, yet stylish print for your next round and beyond. Where style meets performance, this polo is designed with breathable, wicking fabric featuring anticmicrobial properties to keep you feeling as good as you look. The under-buttons add a simple luxury, making sure your collar stays crisp all day long.
Walk in the Woods is a delicately designed and constructed polo featuring 94% polyester and 6% spandex pique material. Stitch’s pique material stands out in a way that completely flies in the face of what we might normally consider pique to mean. For those that aren’t knowledgeable about fabric construction, pique traditionally features a waffle-like weave and is designed to be breathable and a premium looking material. However breathable it may be compared to other materials, cotton or thicker synthetics tend to negate those effects at times, especially for activities like golf.
With Walk in the Woods, Stitch has managed to create an amazingly lightweight, breathable shirt. The synthetic materials feel unnaturally natural, air seems to easily flow through the material, and perspiration evaporates quickly. To channel my inner Ned Flanders, “Feels like I’m wearing nothing at all!”
Atlantic Stripe
Perfect for any time or place. A true course, brews or barbecues polo that looks as relaxed as you feel. Pair it with cool linen bottoms or casual khakis for wherever your weekend takes you.
Stitch sent the Atlantic Stipe in Digital Pink, which unfortunately is very difficult to capture in pictures. You’ll have to take our word for it when we say it’s a combination of fine, blue and pink stripes that almost convince the eyes the shirt is slightly violet. The Atlantic Stripe is a 92% polyester and 8% spandex jersey fabric that is quite different from the pique Walk in the Woods. It’s a bit more substantial (meaning it’s a bit thicker material) and feels incredibly soft and smooth to the touch. A wash cycle made the shirt even softer and more comfortable.
Stitch uses the words “Perfect Fit” to describe how their polos fit. While perfect is often difficult to achieve, there are some glowing positives. Slouchy shoulders are a pet peeve of ours, and the Atlantic Stripe (like other Stich polos) offer nicely squared off shoulders that have the effect of broadening the chest and slimming the midsection. Keep in mind that those of you that prefer a more tailored look should consider sizing down. In fact, just about everybody would probably find sizing down a good strategy. Conveniently, Stitch offers a M/L size, which gives all the comfort of a Large without giving up arm space or length. All the Summer 2023 polos were long enough to stay tucked in, but still managed to look great untucked.
Canal Stripe
Perfect for any time or place. A true course, brews or barbecues polo that looks as relaxed as you feel. For wherever your weekend takes you. The under-buttons add a simple luxury to your new favorite polo, making sure that your collar stays crisp all day long, so you don’t look like you went for a ride around the track.
Like the Atlantic Stripe, the Canal Stripe is a more traditional design made from the same 92% polyester and 8% spandex jersey fabric. The Nantucket Breeze color (again, difficult to capture perfectly in pictures) has a light blue base with green and white striping. Like the Atlantic, the Canal would look equally at-home on the golf course or at Sunday brunch.
Stitch polos have several small details, almost Easter eggs, that set them apart. The first, and probably the most appreciated, is what they call “The Best Collar in Golf”. Everybody knows the shame of showing up to the course with bacon collar. Stitch’s collar construction and signature under-buttons hold up very well to laundering and regular wear. Other small details like contrasting stitching around buttonholes and an embossed rubber under the rear collar add to the premium look of the products.
Scout 1/4 Zip
Layering that’s a step above. This stylish layering piece is the perfect mid-weight layer to transition from the course to a dinner party in cooler months. Its unique design features an innovative performance fabric that makes this piece moisture wicking, breathable, and soft to the touch with a slightly brushed face. Finished with a quarter zip to expose your favorite STITCH® polo, a banded hem and a signature orange label on the side.
Whether you’re playing golf in the shoulder season or have an unseasonably cool day, the 1/4 Zip should be a staple of any golfer’s wardrobe. Not only do they offer added warmth and protection from wind, the design seems to go hand-in-hand with a nice, collared polo. The Scout (seen above in Navy) managed to match well with all three polos we tried.
Constructed of 90% polyester and 10% spandex, the Scout perfectly toed the line of being heavy enough to provide warmth without being too bulky for layering. A close look at the navy fabric revealed soft lines that added depth and a premium look. The M/L size matched perfectly with the same size polos, and the banded bottom avoided a sloppy look without being too tight on the midsection.
Again, Stitch’s attention to detail showed in an embossed logo, the signature orange label on the side, and a heavy-duty zipper.

Simple, clean, styles.
Good writeup. Even with the longer placket, this shirt will be mine

Walk in the Woods may be my favorite summer polo ever, and like most of us I’ve had more golf shirts than I could ever begin to count. Wore it Sunday on humid day in the 90’s and it was really just perfect. I’d buy another six pique shirts if I could afford it.

Wore that one yesterday.
I love they are doing more patterns as well. I have their butterfly pattern shirt and love it. I pretty much wear stitch polos to work everyday and they fit amazing, made well, and hold up well. Pretty much 1 of 3 brands I go to at this point. In fact I’m wearing a stitch polo today

I couldn’t get the code to work. I was gonna pick up a couple of the sale shirts, then it wouldn’t even work on a full price shirt.

I like the Walk in the Woods a lot. Alas, sold out in my size.

I really like the look of that one
Never dabbled in Stitch apparel but I see a few looks I love. May take advantage of the sale. How do these fit, generally?
Those all look really nice. Normally not much of a prints fan, but like the subtle prints on the Walk in the Woods line
Stitch is a first class apparel and equipment company. The quality and materials are all the best.. Your article was in keeping with your subject. Great writing with excellent pictures.

With some of the sales going on already, some really amazing deals to be had.
Giving this one a nudge.
I saw @annsguy comment on Stitch and how much it’s enjoyed.
Who else really enjoys their apparel and why?

The fit, the quality, and supporting a local business.
Also with their sale right now grabbing a shit for 39 bucks or even their mystery boxes it’s hard to say no.
Wore my bleecker stripe shirt today in the blazing heat. Performed great. Stayed cool and dry. The shorts fit well and are light and airy. They’re a 9.5” inseam, I prefer my shorts at 8-8.5”. I wish the material was more forgiving/stretchy.
I really like these shirts… I have a pink and gray performance on right now..
Not sure how to tell pique vs sport fabric when ordering as I didn’t pay attention
If you haven’t worn Stitch apparel I would suggest that if you like clothing that fits well and has fantastic fabrics give Stitch a try. Polos seem to be designed for guys for are fairly fit but not slim fit. The fabrics lay well on the body. Also the length is generous without being too long. The hidden button gives it a classy touch. Plus they lauder well.
I am headed to a trade show today and will pack a couple of their polos. (All bought at 50% off) as well a their Sterling 5 pocket pant. Again, great fabric, you well good wearing them. They and the Puma pant are my go to pants. I play their SL2 stand bag and get compliments on it all the time. It’s three years old and look brand new.

This color combination is excellent. The Bleecker Stripe shirt pattern is my favorite Stitch shirt I own so far.

Just got a few stitch shirts for the first time. Top notch quality. Went a full size down (normally wear M and went S) and they fit perfectly. Played in 105+ temps and it was very breathable. Very happy with the purchase.
The quality and fit of the 1/4 zip far exceeded my expectations. I owned two layering pieces previously from Stitch, and I wasn’t overly enamored with them. But Scout is really, really good.
I have people ask me all the time about my shirts at work. I wear Stitch almost every day at work.

Yeah, I agree. I already called it my most comfortable 1/4 zip I own. It’s simply magical.
I am wearing my Scout 1/4 zip again at the office today, and it is perfect for an office setting. It looks sharp and it really comfortable. The layering pieces from Stitch have usually run small for me, but this fits perfect to a size large.

So the polos run larger but the 1/4 zip run smaller?

This specific 1/4 runs true to stated size for me. In the polos, I prefer the ML over the L, when I usually wear a L in almost all other brands, most predominantly Puma currently.
This is my first 1/4 zip. My previous layering pieces from Stitch were 2 sweaters. Those seemed to run a bit smaller to me, and the fit was more snug than I would have preferred.
Everything I got recently was much more consistently sized. It must have improved from the early days.

I do find that the 1/4 zip and outerwear run a bit smaller than the shirts. I am a comfortable large in the shirts and find the large layering pieces to be a bit snugger than I like.

I own all three brands, and I would go Large in Stitch based on what I have with the Scout 1/4 zip.
I know this sounds silly but I wish Stitch wasn’t on sale so often. Totally understand it’s a function of the apparel industry currently. There is too much cloth out there.I worry that folks will only buy when they are off price. It is too good for that.
