Let me avoid word salad
Outspoken – Agreed
He had a point – Of course. I think everyone in all walks of life should get as much money as possible for their work. NIL money for PGA tour should be allowed.
Admit that I was wrong – I never thought Phil was the devil so I don’t need to admit or apologize for anything. He did however make things hard on himself with his own blunders in the media.

I didnt think he was either i just feel the need to defend him. Sorry if im a dick i always come across worse in typing. I just feel like phil made a lot of sense and was unfairly bastardized for it, especially as the dust further settles on it so therefore i feel responsibility to defend him. probably dumb
But i dont necessarily agree he made it harder on himself, i think the golf media (which is essentially the pga tour’s media) was unfairly harsh on him because they knew his words were truth and had legit ability to upend their power in the golf world.

He was complaining about not getting enough money and then had an insider trading suit and gambling stories about him. Joe public that the average income isn’t what Phil makes in an afternoon doesn’t like that kind of nonsense.

oh totally, and i get that 100%. Why would people who struggle to get by want to hear a ultra rich guy bitch he doesnt make enough money golfing.
But theres also the side of the coin that maybe phil wasnt fighting for just his own self. Maybe hed been involved and watched hundreds of tour guys not get the payouts they deserve while the wigs sat on billion dollar reserves and rode private jets to all their vaca homes for decades. I think theres a legitimate gripe against the tour bureaucracy phil may have had, even if he’d cashed in millions and millions. He probably feels the tour wigs were living lavishly of the players backs. Kind of like our sellout us government today
But that is enough debate on this for me today. LOL just my two cents

He probably was.
With that said, the message was nearly always about the tour players not getting enough money, not Phil.
The more that comes out about this the more I am sad for pro golf and the less interested I am in all of it. And I mean all of it. PGA, LIV, TGL, Netflix Cup, the Match number 351… I find myself just being happy watching someone shoot 1-4 under on youtube..
Look at the players that come up on a search with “LIV Golf Tour players list”. The LIV-PGA merger is moving faster than we think. ?

Merger will be completed in 2028?
Unless there is some 11th hour miracle the merger looks dead.
What happens next?
Lawsuits?
Extension?
Both leagues goes their own way?
So much uncertainty for professional golf and once again the fans suffer the most.
There’s a report that PGAT and PIF have agreed to push the deadline back closer to The Masters.

Why do you say that? News? They can just extend the deadlines.
