I bet on your team at the worldwide, but it’d be silly to bet against someone named Walker while playing in Texas.

I was telling one of the guys I play with about this and he was like “I have to go do that”. It wouldn’t surprise me if he does as he’s big Mizuno fan and has plenty of disposable income to do it.
Is it bad that I have already started looking up flights for this? A lot easier than a 22 hour drive.
Also what’s everyone preferred method of flying with club or shipping them? Any trip I have ever taken mine on have been withing driving distance.

Nope, I started looking at flights as soon as I was selected last year though I was a replacement so it was only about 2.5 months out. I would say that one of you may want to get a travel thread started so that you can coordinate for travel or lodging for any pre or post experience rounds that you may want to do.
Having played a couple rounds before the Morgan Cup and Victory Cup last year with THP’ers I would highly recommend it if you can swing it. It’s a blast getting that extra time in with your fellow participants and perhaps other local guys that may want to meet up and play. Last year I meet the guys in the Quest Cup to play a round the in San Antonio at The Quarry and then joined them for dinner.
Also, depending on who you fly with you may want to check on first class. For the Victory Cup it was only $70 each way for me to upgrade from economy. That included two checked bags which would have cost me $70 to check in under the economy flight. So I paid the exact same amount but got first instead of economy. Talk about a no brainer.

This is a good idea. I pick exit rows on any flight 2 hours or more, the extra leg room for me is worth the cost. I was already planning to fly in a day or 2 early to get situated and maybe staying an extra day or 2.

Mizuno demo day at my home course on 5/23 🙂 :mizuno:
I look forward to following this one. Chris Voshall is my one my favorite OEM folks to watch on YT. His passion for the product and the way he explains things in a simple digestible way is top notch.

I couldn’t agree more. Vosh and Vrska videos are the best. They are able to break it down to where I can mostly comprehend.
Since it was mentioned in another thread, I will just say it here.
No, you will not be playing Vokey wedges at this experience.
And you will be playing a Mizuno golf ball.

Awesome! I saw an earlier post about 9 clubs and was wondering what end of the bag would be part of the madness.
Figured most getting into this would lean Mizuno, but since that didnt seem to be the case, I wanted to put it out there.

I need to get some Mizuno balls and test them out this summer. From the little reading I have already done the The Tour X seems closest to the BX I currently play and the Tour doesn’t seem to far off either.

I just used the last of the balls I got at last years Victory Cup. I can say that the performance with them was great and so much better than the previous version. I still have a stash of Z-stars that I got on sale last year that I need to work through but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy more Mizuno balls to play. It was nice being the only person playing them so it was easy to identify my ball.

According to my instructor the best thing for me to do is fixing my mental game and reluctance to follow good course management. So a lot of purposeful course time is in my future. I’ll probably spend more time than usual at my course’s short game area for some bunker and chipping practice too. But most importantly is looking at a pic of my strokes gained for the past 3 years to remind myself I’m on the right track and to keep grinding. It’s out of date but here’s the pic I’m gonna use.

I really liked the Tour and X balls that were given. I would probably give the edge to the tour for me. Both very playable.

Have a mizuno driver on the way. Haven’t had a chance to test the irons yet, but it’s on the docket. I’m really curious which equipment will be available for the event. Assuming it’s the JPX line, the 923 was split up into two seperate releases, so I wonder if that will be the case again.

I’m assuming this is going to line up with the JPX line, and I’m really in between forged and tour. I love the look of the tour and I think I can handle them as a player, but as someone who has worked their way backwards from blades, to small cavity backs to now the Callaway Apex, I might need a little more forgiveness from the Forged. But truth time: I’m in love with the tour and as long as I can handle the 4-5 iron consistently then that’s they way I would go. I feel comfortable after the 6 iron in the smaller head so maybe I could even explore splitting them, but there might be a really wide gap that would be tough to cover even with bending.

245’s are gorgeous!! I never hit the HM or HMP’s but I know several THPers sware by them. Super excited to see what all you guys get to put into play and review.
@jlew When I can swing again, I will be testing out this new set of 245 with my custom green and gold shafts.
I cant speak to new equipment, but if everything were to stay the same as years past, this would be HM and HMP and I played the last HMP for nearly 2 years.
