Titleist launched the Vokey SM10 wedges in January of this year, offering a wide range of choices. As usual, Bob Vokey likes to expand the line by introducing new options along the way. Today, Vokey is releasing the new WedgeWorks Low Bounce K grind to add to the range.
I appreciate it when Bob Vokey and Aaron Dill collaborate to create new wedges to add to the existing lineup. Doing so not only helps showcase what tour professionals are looking for, but also provides weekend golfers with another option inspired by the tour. When these new grinds are released, people often wonder where they fit into the current lineup and what type of player would benefit from adding one to their bag. These releases tend to be very targeted, and the new Low Bounce K grind is best suited for players with a shallow attack angle who play in firm conditions.
“Several players preferred the K grind sole but were seeking a lower bounce version,” said Bob Vokey. “As a result, we crafted a sole with 6 degrees of effective bounce, while maintaining the wide camber that makes the K design so effective for a wide variety of players. As soon as we brought it out on tour, it was immediately accepted and in the bags of multiple players as soon as they had a chance to test it.”
With such an extensive lineup of bounce and grind options, there can be some overlap within the SM10 family. For starters, both the standard K grind and the low bounce K grind feature a wide, high-cambered sole that is set up to be an absolute weapon from greenside bunkers. As mentioned above, the Low Bounce K suits golfers who play in firmer conditions and employ a shallower swing thanks to its bounce angle of 6°. Golfers who primarily play in softer conditions or are steeper with their swing will benefit from the standard K grind with its 14° of bounce.
The other wedge that shares some similarities to the new WW Low Bounce K is the SM10 T grind, which has the lowest bounce of the whole lineup. Like the Low Bounce K, it only comes in the 58° and 60° lofts, but with 2° less bounce. Both wedges will require some precision, with the T grind being an option to help unleash a player’s creativity and the Low Bounce K being a more suitable bunker option while still having a leading edge that hugs the ground.
“The K grind lives in the bags of some of the world’s best,” said Aaron Dill. “It has always been known as the ultimate bunker club. However, when you ask players on tour why they play the K grind, they will tell you not only do they love the performance in the bunkers, but they love the way the leading edge hugs the ground when pitching and chipping.”
SM10 TECHNOLOGY
• High and forward center of gravity progression – The CG is moved up and forward for SM10 lofts 54-62 degrees, which provides a lower trajectory and a squarer face at impact. The higher CG provides a lower trajectory with more spin and greenside control, and moving the CG forward enables the face to square more easily at impact, resulting in a tighter dispersion.

Vokey’s latest lineup addition comes in two lofts, 58° and 60°, with a consistent 6° of bounce. Like the rest of the SM10 wedges, the new WedgeWorks Low Bounce K grind will stock a True Temper Dynamic Gold S200 shaft and Titleist Universal 360 grip. As for finishes, this release only comes in Raw, which means it will rust over time.
