No one would deny that Cobra Golf isn’t necessarily known for their wedges, but that has never been due to performance as THP’er feedback has constantly been positive with each and every iteration brought to market. With SNAKEBITE as well as SNAKEBITE-X, however, they have created a tandem which gives options to golfers of all skill levels and people are taking notice more and more.
Today, Cobra Golf isn’t reinventing those two lines, rather they are expanding them. This is a place where, as a brand, you can argue that Cobra has always been more in-tune with how to elongate the lifetime of their wedges to keep them relevant well past the initial releases.
Cobra SNAKEBITE-X Wedge Expansion
The SNAKEBITE-X was Cobra’s foray into producing a true game improvement wedge which was a standalone versus simply being a part of their game-improvement iron sets. The key here is the “Hollow Cavity Back Design” of the clubhead which also uses a soft TPU material to keep the feel golfers want while gaining the forgiveness of the CB.
In the initial release, the SNAKEBITE-X was limited to 48, 52, 56, and 60 degree options, this expansion is changing that by adding 50, 54, and 58 degree lofts that will give even more blending opportunities for golfers. More options in a more forgiving wedge are always a welcome addition.
Cobra SNAKEBITE RAW Wedge Expansion
On THP, there were many who were a bit saddened to see that there was not initially a raw option when the latest SNAKEBITE wedges were released. Today, those of us who were in that camp get to rejoice as Cobra has listened to their consumers as well as stayed true to their wedge roots and will be offering the wedges in a non-plated RAW finish.
The wedges themselves offer all of the same technology as the other finishes, including the CNC Groove Milling with progressive widths and depths depending on the loft. They also offer the same traditional length grooves on the 48-54 and full-face grooves from 56-60 degrees. The SNAKEBITE RAW finish will be available in all three grinds (Versatile, Classic, Widelow) which keeps a wide range of fitting capabilities intact.
The Details
Both the SNAKEBITE-X expansion and SNAKEBITE RAW wedges will be available for order starting today, 3/8/24. The price on the X will come in at $159 while the RAW settle in at $179.

Great write up James! It is awesome to see how Cobra listened to golfers and added the new loft and Raw finish options to the line. I can say I’ve never put a Cobra wedge into play, but these look quite interesting.
The added lofts in the Snakebite X is awesome to hear. Those wedges are so easy to hit and perform so well. If you’re in the market for wedges, do not sleep on these!
I love the extra lofts in the Snakebite X. Their wedges are criminally underrated. They spin like crazy and always look really good.
I like all of this!
thank you for these details @Jman ! The line expansion is what cobra needed!
Another option for the ones that like ’em raw.
These wedges are great. I love a couple features of them and decided a while back that with the raw finish I need to give them another go and grind them into exactly what I want. And I’m looking forward to it!
Finally some rust ?. Great write-up @Jman!
Options are good!
Very cool. Excited to see the expanded lofts in the SBX, this will make the MC bag more user friendly when the time comes I think.
Also it’s cool to see the raw option added to the Snakebite lineup for those that like the rusty option.

Pretty cool seeing more options become available. I feel like the has to be a sign of growing popularity
Snakebite X are very good wedges. I have the 52 and 56 . The additional loft offerings definitely give more choices and options as to what to have in the bag.

Awww now mine aren’t exclusive any more… Never thought I’d be a rust guy, but after a year I get excited to see them. They rust quite nicely…
It’s interesting, my first thought when I read this line:
“Cobra Golf isn’t reinventing those two lines, rather they are expanding them”
Is wow they must be very confident in what they’ve made with these wedges. And that perceived confidence makes me confident in them.
I haven’t gotten a chance to game them yet but a forum friend sent me a 54 and 58 to try out for a while. I’m really excited to get them on course and see how they fit my game. I’ve heard nothing but great things about them here and from one of the pro’s at my club. Now if it will ever stop raining I can go see for myself.
Great write up. Having never played Cobra wedges these excite me. It’s time to look at new wedges. In the past I would always gravitate the brands. Maybe it’s time to expand that search to include the SB wedges. Raw has me curious.
adding the 50/54/58 to the X line is a really great move.. love the rusting of @G-Man ‘s wedges above, these will look great for so many
I have three Snakebite wedges. Probably the most under appreciated clubs in my bag. I use a 54 and a 60. Good looking with predictable distance control and spin.

I’m really glad to see more offerings in the SBX line. They are phenomenal wedges. There’s a good chance I end up with an SBX 58* soon.
Snakebite’s are criminally underrated. Love that they’ve added raw back into the fold on those.
YES! I was hoping we would see a RAW finish. My black ones are really good but the last raw wedges I had were the best feeling wedges from Cobra I’ve ever gamed. Cobra wedges are so underrated its not even funny. Take a look people, no excuses now with plenty of options!
Adding loft and finish options is just good for everybody.
raw wedges are always a good thing!!!

Love me a rusted wedge, and Cobra does it better than most.
Like what they are doing with this line.
This is cool to see Cobra offer wedges that check a few boxes and perform. Right or wrong the X will be compared to the Cleveland line but I think that’s fair in terms of game improvement forgiveness from that club.
More option more better. The Snakebite X line is so good and surprised alot of people last year myself included. Will be tough for me to go back to blade wedges.

This is enough to make me look at the Snakebites again, the feel of their raw wedges has just always been spectacular.
This is a really cool image, sure it’s generated, but it’s awesome.

Great writeup @Jman ! It’s good to see them expanding options.
When the people talk it seems like Cobra listens. I’m glad they’re adding lofts to the X. Hopefully that means they’re moving a lot of them!
Nice options form Cobra on the wedges. Nice write up @Jman

The X isn’t my kind of wedge, but man they’re silly fun/easy, it’s really cool to see them expand.

Wait what ? Okay, I love the raw addition and the new lofts will make for more options to assemble the bottom end. Thank you @Jman for the writeup!

they are always just a few clicks away…
Pretty sure the raw wedges will be back in my bag this year. While the black is awesome the last raw wedges they put out were my absolute favorite.

Too bad you get a new set every year ???
I was hoping we’d see a raw option released! So excited to see the raw, but also pleasantly surprised by the addition of lofts on the SBX. This is one of the things I love most about CPG: they listen to their customers. Seems simple enough, but is far less common across companies than I would hope it to be. Thank you CPG!
These look like another awesome wedge in the category. Great write up and I expect nothing but great things out of them.
I am all sorts of excited for this release. So glad they brought out some RAW…trusty rusty baby!
The Cobra wedges are so good. The King MiMs were really good but the new iterations of Snakebite and Snakebite X are fantastic. Feel is fantastic and they flat-out perform.
I have SBx in 48 and 52, SB in 54V and SB Black in 52V, 54V, 58V (2) and 58 WL. I play the SBx 52 one weak to help narrow a gap. The Black 52v and 58V have less than 5 shots on them between the 2. I think they’ll be up on the Marketplace soon. Daddy needs new wedges.

Best name of any club in golf.
Big fan of the raw option being back. Zero complaints from me about that.
Can I be a touch grumpy that I just bought another CB style wedge as the X lofts didn’t gap well for me?
So good to see them expand the X line into more options.
