Brooks has now posted a 74 or worse in the final round of the last three majors where he held or was within two shots of the lead after 54 holes.

Kiawah looked impossible to me. 74 is impressive there imo

Same. Listened to NLU recently with him on there talking about the ball rollback and the guy was just an ass hat. He’s got some serious RBF too lol.

Does not seem fun at parties ha

Sure, but only one other player in the top 29 shot worse than a 73 that day and Brooks lost by one.

That’s shocking to me. Didn’t really view those others as chokes as much as this one was.
Thought of this last night but anymore remember a few years ago when Rahm played a practice round before the tournament with Tiger and JT? They interviewed Rahm after and he joked (probably more slightly irritated) how tight lipped Tiger was with him on how he plays certain holes. But when he talked with JT he was spilling it all. This W has got to be even that more satisfying today.
He’ll always be my favorite player

Was a great Master’s week! It was great to see Koepka healthy and back in contention. Does seem like he is chasing ghosts right now. These final round choke jobs are building and it seemed 100% mental yesterday.
Rahm cemented his legacy, and he still has a lot left in the tank. Will be curious to see if he can pull in another 2 or 3 over the next 4-5 years. He has the game for it.
Scheffler looked as frustrated as I can remember him on tour. I don’t recall him ever showing this much emotion on his putting as he did in the last week.
Homa was again disappointing in a major… if he can’t get something going at the US Open this year where he should have all the advantage, his reputation is really going to suffer. He has to put up a good showing one of these upcoming tournaments.
Now with LIV… they did have Koepka, Phil, and Reed all finish high. Koepka proved he still has it when healthy, that is huge. Phil was a neat lightning in a bottle situation. Reed always plays Augusta well (I think he has 4 top 10s and 5 top 25 finishes in 10 starts). Not really a surprise he played well IMO. The headlines will focus on that part, but to me it has never been that LIV doesn’t have some top talent, it is that they don’t have much depth and there will be a degradation in ability to compete in the highest level tournaments over time. The latter, we will see how this plays out over the next 2-3 years (IMO it will be more interesting on the majors that move). One tournament doesn’t make or break it. DJ and Smith’s performances don’t leave a lot of confidence… while Brooks and Reed do give confidence, but way too early to tell. On the depth…. they obviously had 3 finish high. From there there was one more guy (Niemann) T16th in the top 25. Varner finished T29th. In total, the PGA tour had 25 of the 32 players that finished T29th or higher. I think as you move down, the board, LIV didn’t have as great of tournament as the headlines would otherwise show. The PGA will be interesting to watch from this perspective.
Thought this was a really boring Masters to be honest. Between the weather and Rahm just dominating yesterday, felt very anti climatic.

I went and spent some time with family instead of watching the last 7 holes or so. Once Rahm had the lead you just knew it was over. Last year was similar with Scheffler

100%. He was dialed in and Koepka and Hovland were way off their games. Was over by the 10th tee.

Watching the post-round press conferences on “Live From”. The media was almost breaking their arms trying so hard to stir the pot, and Brandel and Co. were like a propaganda campaign. Good Lord you sycophant muckrakers, give it a freaking rest.

I agree…a lot of this is media driven. I am beginning to think people get into reporting because they couldn’t find jobs as used car salesmen.

Poor Hovland had to deal with both Bennett and Cantlay taking 15 looks at their shots. :ROFLMAO:

I agree completely. It wasn’t one of the more memorable weekends at Augusta.

I was hoping that they would focus on the golf and not the extraneous circumstances.
I feel like Xander is gonna break through soon. He has the game. Just needs to put it all together at the right time.

100% real. I didn’t understand it for a few minutes but it totally happened then the light went off and I giggled.

I thought it was great until the last chunk of holes. I mean it was still fantastic and I ended up catching it back live with the leaders at like 17, but the drama of some of the guys going really low and getting into top 5 was pretty awesome.
Once we “knew it was over” though, yeah I do agree. Very happy he held onto that lead, good for Rahm – stinks for Brooks to go down after being so strong the first couple days.
Didn’t get to watch as much as I wanted yesterday. Was happy to see Rahm win. I was worried he missed his opportunity to close the gap when he had a few 3 putts on the back nine of the third round. I didn’t expect BK to shoot over par in the final round.
I believe that is twice this season that Rahm has come from behind for the win. Props to him for believing in himself and grinding it out.

coming soon to a $88.88 shirt near you
Brooks really let me down. I wish he could have at least made it a duel but he did absolutely nothing. It was kind of a snoozefest of a final round imo.
Oh well. I felt like all the LIV players represented themselves admirably.
