It’s time for our first major of the year contest . This will also serve as the place for the tournament chat bringing the banter and conversation through the entire 2023 Masters.
The Prize
We have teamed up with Callaway Golf for a prize that is limited, special and not available for purchase. We can’t show it off until Wednesday, but suffice it to say, you will want to win this one.
UPDATE: This limited edition Masters Callaway Stand Bag cannot be purchased in stores. The Tour Players are using it during the Par 3 Event and you can win your own.
How to Enter
Post below who you think will win The 2023 Masters.
This prize will not be available for sale, so the only way to get one is to win it.
If nobody picks the winner, we will choose the winner randomly from all entries. If there is a tie, we will choose the winner randomly from those who guessed right.
Entries must be posted by the time the first players tee off.
Make your prediction now and win this awesome limited edition prize from Callaway Golf. We will announce the lucky winner next week on the THP Forum.

Koepka says the group in front was brutally slow.
Such an understatement
Agreed, my daughter’s (4) pre shot routine is shorter, and she sets up her stuffed animal, then demands that you take a picture before each shot.
Rahm is the first European player to win the US Open and Masters. That is impressive.
Way to go Rahm. What a beast. Cool to see Phil get a backdoor 2nd. My question: Is Rahm who we thought Rory was?
For me I pump the brakes on that if we are talking about career to this point. Rory was one of a few golfers to get 4 majors by 25.
Huge win for Rahm. Dude is a stud and definitely on a heater which is so fun to watch.

He is a bad dude. BUT we also can’t forget how great Rory was and how good he still is.
It wasn’t in the context. He congratulated Rahm and said to Amanda he didn’t have it today. The pace was horrid though.
I wonder what might have been if they finished the 3rd round on Saturday. Koepka seemed to be pulling away and handling the elements better.
Great day of golf. Enjoyed having the best players together on the course.

X-Man, Cantlay, Cameron Young, Hovland
Who gets a major win first?
Young has to win first. I’ll take Hovland.

yup, it was commented on in this thread.
That’s a good response
Super difficult to keep a good headspace when you’re waiting even as an amateur, let alone with a major title and a ton of money on the line

That is absolute gold. I was driving in the depths of the WV dead zone. By the time I got service and time I was way to far behind to catch up.
Oddly enough, I loved Brooks press conference. Called out slow play. Didn’t bite on the LIV v PGAT questions. Said Masters is best tourney in the world. And in the end, its still all about the majors for him.
Sort of how I wished this thread would have gone
I am ALL for these dudes roasting slow play.
Now it’s up to the tours to crack down on it. Which they will do twenty minutes from never.
The tour takes too much time to address players taking too much time …. maybe as the PGA sees the pitch clock improving baseball they’ll put some time enforcement in golf

Watching Rahms press conference I could not be happier for him! Great week and well deserved!
Absolutely.. watching it now and love how he’s gracious w/ every question and answering them honestly & sincerely. Def a big fan now.
The more I hear Rahm talk the happier I am for him. (And Patrick Reed didn’t win). I didn’t get to be in here nearly as much as I wanted today but thank you guys for making the first 3 rounds much more fun than my cat would have.

It would be so refreshing if people just enjoyed the Masters without the us vs them stuff.
What is it with Koepka and touching the head of the putter? He does it twice for every stroke.
It shouldn’t but it really bugs me! I could understand if he was wiping wet grass off the bottom of the face.
He explained it in an interview a few years back – said he had a putt where there was some mud or wet grass stuck to his putter, he didn’t notice it and it screwed up his putt. Ever since that, he formed the habit of wiping it off before putting.

Apparently Hovland was playing out of turn to speed things up.
Not being a fan of Brooks I don’t feel bad at all he chocked today.
Rahm is just killing it this year.
Glad to see Rahm win it, hope he goes on a run in the majors this year.

Now go watch Phil’s press conference if you haven’t seen it. Media really wants to push this LIV vs PGAT narrative so bad! SMH
Thought Phil did a good job with his press conference. Even Rich Lerner was complimentary of Phil. Chamblee was probably biting his tongue.
It was a really long final round. They teed off at 11:33 am. At 2:30 I started to watch expecting to see them on 12, 13 or 14, yet they just made the turn. Brutal.

I didn’t get to see any of the 4th round. Sounded like once Rahm got the lead it was over.
I did see Phil speak just a few minutes ago. He took the high road or at least it seemed to me.
X-Man, Cantlay, Cameron Young, Hovland

Hopefully not Cantlay. Man that guy is a turd.
would you say the slow pace messed with Hovlands game?
Watching the post-round press conferences on “Live From”. The media was almost breaking their arms trying so hard to stir the pot, and Brandel and Co. were like a propaganda campaign. Good Lord you sycophant muckrakers, give it a freaking rest.

Yeah. I listened to him for an extended interview on a podcast and usually I come away liking someone more after you get a chance to learn more about them or hear their perspective and I came away feeling the opposite, which is hard to do.

That’s the USGA/R&A, not the Tour. Entirely different entities, and the Tour doesn’t agree with the ball thing anyway.

I would have never guessed this hasn’t happened before. Good for Rahm.
Brooks has now posted a 74 or worse in the final round of the last three majors where he held or was within two shots of the lead after 54 holes.
