Introducing the Titleist Vokey SM10 Wedges.
By now you have likely seen the teasers Titleist has used to pull back the curtain on their newest Vokey wedges, the SM10. However, today officially marks when we can provide you with all the details about just what sets the newest creation from the genius mind of Bob Vokey apart from the past.
Titleist Vokey SM10 Wedges
While there is never any shortage of fine tuning that goes into the next Vokey wedge release, this year feels even more focused as there has been a heavy emphasis put on control, feel, and a lower flight. Of course, amidst this there is still ample focus on finding ways to maximize spin, as that is a constant when it comes to wedge design.
With each Vokey release being more than half of the wedges played on Tour this past season, and the most playedwedge since 2004, it has provided Bob Vokey and company with access to feedback from the best players in the world. According to Aaron Dill, Director of Vokey Player Relations:
“The best players in the world know exactly what they want from their wedges. The smallest details matter to them and they are very specific when it comes to describing the improvements they want to see. Their feedback is invaluable. We are constantly learning from them and it’s that constant collaboration which allows us to get even better with each new generation.”
There is certainly a level of pressure when it comes to the newest Vokey Wedge release, but in its first week on the PGA Tour, the SM10 was the most played wedge with twenty players making the switch immediately.
In terms of design, there are six different “tour-proven sole grinds” that will make up the main release of the SM10 (F, S, M, K, T, D) with twenty-five unique loft, bounce, and grind combinations available. This remains an area where Vokey seems to stand above the pack, the emphasis on finding the best setup for each golfer through their defined sole options never ceases to impress.
Bob Vokey and his staff have continued to also push to refine the center of gravity (CG) as much as possible. The SM10 utilizes an optimized progressive CG system based upon loft and its predominant use. In the 46-52 degree wedges the CG has been pushed lower to blend more seamlessly from an iron both in flight and gapping. For the 54-62 degree clubs, the CG is actually higher and more forward in order to lower/flatten ball flight to increase accuracy into greens.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an SM wedge release without the Spin Milled grooves. Titleist is continuing their design process with a scoreline which allows not just more spin, but more consistent spin even as the wedges wear. TX9 grooves are individually cut depending on the loft and finish with the lower lofts (up to 54) being more narrow and deep. The higher lofts utilize wider grooves that are also more shallow.
According to Titleist, we will also see the Vokey SM10’s have a more progressive shape than the SM9, again working to blend into an iron set, but also provide the visuals needed for the shot types each loft range is most used for. The SM10’s will be offered in Tour Chrome, Jet Black, and a new Nickel finish.
The Details
The new SM10 Vokey’s will be available for fitting starting on 2/15/24 and come to full retail on 3/8/24. The wedges will be priced at $189 and be offered from 46 to 62 degrees. As always, there will also be a customization program available through WedgeWorks, including Raw finished SM10’s.

Either I’m getting old, have lost my fire, and simply can’t find things to complain about or it’s just a good year for wedges.
Got a PM asking to repost the data from full swings, so here’s a little bump.

So thats an interesting question and I had a bit of a unique opportunity I should describe.
The short answer is for my 52 full swing mattered more for bounce and grind and 60 more partial, 30 yards and in.
We started on the range with a 52. We have a grass range. After every shot, the fitter cleaned the club. The fitter was looking where I made contact You could also hear the difference between grinds.
Our turf is very tight and you have to pick the ball pretty clean. I could absolutely tell the difference between an 8 and a 12 bounce. The 8 bounce got through the ball much better. The sound was a lot more crisp and you could also see it in the divots.
For the 60, we started with 80 yard shots on the range. A few felt similar. Then we took them out to our short game area. Started at 60 yards in hit about 15 balls, moved to 30, moved to the bunker, to a flop shot and to a really tight tucked shot. The fitter wanted to see the flighting I prefer, how I come into the ball, and how much I open the face in the bunker.
With the 60 moving the S to M grind made a lot of sense. M gave me more versatility and helped me pick the ball cleaner adding more greenside spin/control.
One important thing the fitter caught on was that I need the lie angle down because the way I come into the ball chipping. So we tested this too. Overall there was no trackman or tech but a classic sound, feel, see type fitting. It was great.
I ordered both the 52 and 60 (I dont play a 56).

thats sounds awesome, so cool some folks will get to have an experience around that
Catching up on this thread and Vokey experience sign up day. What could be better. Have had the SM8s in the bag for a few years. It’s time they need replaced. Have considered other options but the Vokeys just feel so damn good.
I can’t wait to try these.

Little zipzip back to pin high for an easy one with the SM10 60/08M. Still love everything about my beloved M and glad they’re brining it back in the 54 this year for people who like it there.
What’s everyone seeing around the greens with these wedges? I’m not long and miss a ton of greens and really rely on chipping to keep my scores respectable. These look amazing and I definitely want to try them.

I spent an entire back 9 saving my butt with shots like this into nightmare greens with the 60/08M yesterday. Got up and down every time. So they’re obviously excellent. ?
I saw good spin, nice turf interaction in very mixed conditions with the M, .. everything you’d expect. I mean they haven’t changed all that much. Which isn’t all that exciting, but they look great and perform well.
It was interesting taking out a stock setup. I played their stock shaft for years in my wedges, but finally went away from it for a whole year last year. Most companies have gone lighter on their shafts. These are about the last major one still using ones this heavy of one and it was noticeable for me out there. Didn’t bother me, but I think the average person might start to notice the separation between them and their peers on that when trying them.

Mission will be to find these two to demo this weekend or next to see what they bring.

Wow. Fun! That wedge isn’t for many people.

He’s one where I think you can hear the sound off the wedge pretty well, and see the spin into the green. They feel pretty decent. Crisp, solid, good feedback.
Not the best angle to show the flight differences, but they tend to fly just a little lower. That’s about as high as I ever initially launch one, so I’m probably not the best person to show that off.
I’ve only hit them in the sim, so I don’t have a good comparison. Looking forward to weather, any weather, but this haha. However, these might get me to put a 60 back in the bag.

I’m pretty basic 54/10S (bent to 55) in the sand wedge, more square face spot, but I could and still can play the 60M on basically everything else. It’s a good grind. Here’s that one on hole 15.

It’s what I was recommended at a Titleist fitting. I play in firm conditions and am pretty shallow so it works.
I’m not sure about the change to the T grind though. I think I need to look at both that and the M
Getting out for my second round on grass with these today, so that means thoughts to come.
They are definitely Vokey’s.
My cinematographer @ddec is stuck in New York so itll just be words and data from me since he’s a slacker.?

Makes sense. Definitely look at both. It’s great that Titleist puts so many demo clubs in rotation at places so everyone can.

Only my work phone, but I love what they offer.
We were down in NYC for work last week for pretty much a straight month. One day we were in Staten Island at an office there and it provides a great view of the Statue of Liberty with lower manhattan as the backgdrop. One of my co-workers has as s23 ultra, and damn was he able to get some cool pics zoomed way in on that lovely lady. It was like his mic drop moment haha
Alright! 38 degrees and first off walking 18, time for some SM10 work!

So how did they work at 38 degrees.
Have not hit them yet. Will solve that in a few weeks. Maybe I can hit them at Golf Tec. If not I’ll swing by Club Champion or GG.
Mentioned how the 60M kept saving my bacon that day. This was the unicorn shot. Slopes never come through right on vids, but I was on the side bank of the next tee after a ridiculous kick off a root.

But the M can do it all.
I kind of forgot how much I like it on speck too. It plays well here. Doesn’t get stuck.
I absolutely loved how Aaron and Kevin broke down the grinds on Off Course.

The nickel are so nice

Time to take a dive into these and see what the crew has to say about them. Very interested in something around 58 to 60 degrees, that isn’t raw, and has a wide sole.

That looks fantastic. Was hoping to find a few of these locally but no such luck.
Looked around today to try out a S grind in a 54° but couldn’t even find a used SM9 or 8. In the past I’ve played what I liked the look of and what I thought seemed to glide through the grass the best but I’m really all in on finding a quality wedge fitting and these are high on the list. Local shop said mid next month before they get them in so a little more wait but look forward to it.
Had to. Haha! ?
Anybody else mess around with the wedge selector tool yet to get a baseline of what might fit your game or to get a baseline? Would love to upgrade my SM8’s… I have my 50° bent to 49°, 54 stayed 54 and 60° bent to 59° to match the 5° of separation across my irons as well.

Jet black looks sharp but I’ve never been able to read the loft stamped on it ? and was always worried I’d pull the wrong club unless I paint filled them.
